This is a fabulous art deco late 1920's Whiting & Davis Armor Mesh enameled bag from the BEADLITE collection. It was likely designed by the renowned fashion icon, Paul Poiret, who worked with Whiting & Davis at this time. This beauty has the sculpted hand painted enameled metal frame, and is lined inside with a silk fabric. The inside of the frame, stamped on both sides, reads: Whiting & Davis Co Mesh Bags. Measures 5" wide x 5" tall, plus the Vandyke skirt which adds a little under an inch more. Has a silvertone tone chain with a 5.5" drop. This gorgeous bag is in excellent condition. Both sides are identical, and both sides are pictured... can you tell! No stains or smells to the interior, but there is a couple small tears to the lining inside as pictured.
