Stunning milk glass Hen on Nest by mid-century glassmaker John E. Kemple Glassworks, produced between 1945-1969. Both pieces have the "Ring of Fire" identifying authentic, old milk glass! Hen features a split tail, delicately detailed feathers and face, and is nesting on eggs peaking out from under her breast and wings. This covered dish is a fabulous representation of the quality and desireability of these mid-century vintage pieces. Callouts: 1. The nest dish has been broken and repaired. There's a crack up the middle and both ends. Very minimal chipping occurred and the crack is hardly visible from a few inches away. Slight yellowing from the glue is minimally visible along the crack. 2. A small number of flea bites are present along the rim of the lid and the dish, consistent with normal use/wear and tear over decades. 3. Two "teeth" on the basket are chipped on one end and not visible from a few inches away. Shipping profile covers lots of careful packing!
