The book is well organized by theme - animals, just for fun, memories, etc. This is a great book to "grow with" your child - There are shorter, sillier poems for younger kids and more serious, introspective poems for teens and even adults. You'll laugh and cry going through this book. It also has some beautiful little illustrations on each page to accompany the poems, which my now toddler loves.
