About the Seller
Hi, I’m Darcey Reason behind the name: Not because of Kirks Folly even though I do enjoy some of the pieces. The name comes from my grandparents. Grandma went by Dee (years ago some people started calling me Dee), and at the end of my Grandparents road stood custom made redwood sign that read *(our last name) Folly* — My papa's nod to the **Ziegfeld Follies** The Follies were the legendary glamorous variety shows of the early 1900s (Grandpa was born in 1921, the same year as one of the most famous Follies productions) My logo and branding is based on that 1921 Poster. During the 18th and 19th century, a "folly" also meant something ornate and extravagant, built purely for the beauty of it. I love to not only make beautiful things but collect them! So, that's what I'm building here — and my logo pays homage to those original Follies posters. I'm a PNW girl, mosaic artist, creator and treasure hunter curating eclectic boho fashion, vintage jewelry, oddities, and handmade art. Expect wild drops, one-of-a-kind finds, and a whole lot of heart. Welcome to the Folly. Every find, a beautiful folly. ✨ Our Emoji is the Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 or a 🐦 bird + 🔥 fire if you have an older phone. "The Follies" — "The original Follies were women who were told to sit down and be quiet (I am not one of those women). Instead, they put on a crown, draped themselves in jewels, and dared the world to look away. They were bold, ornate, ahead of their time, and unapologetically themselves. That's what it means to be a Folly — you don't wait for permission to be extravagant. I have nothing but respect for anyone who is unapologetically themselves — bold, extravagant, bougie, whatever, and refusing to shrink into society's neat little box ( I am a big fan of Drag because of this). I spent years trying to be who everyone else wanted me to be. The older I get, the more I realize the people I admire most are the ones who never bothered with that or have overcome it. And slowly, neither do I. If that's you — I see you, and I'm here for it. If it's not you yet but you want it to be — start now. Be liberated. Be ornate. Be too much. Be a Folly. 🏛️🐦‍🔥 Dee's Folly, LLC
