Original albumen cabinet card portrait of Paul von Janko, Hungarian inventor of the revolutionary Janko piano keyboard, photographed at the royal court studio Mertens és Fia in Budapest, c.1885–1895. Labeled on front in period ornate type with handwritten inscription identifying him as "Inventor of a new Key Board for the Piano". Rare, identified portrait of a figure of music history, Card has bend at the top.
