Coyote Lost and Found is a heartfelt middle-grade adventure and companion novel to The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise. The story follows 12-year-old Coyote and her dad, Rodeo, about a year after they finally stopped living on the road and settled in Oregon. While trying to adjust to “normal” life and continue healing from the loss of her mother and sisters, Coyote discovers a box containing her mom’s ashes. She decides she’s finally ready to honor her mom’s final wish and scatter the ashes in a special place. There’s one major problem: the location of that special place is hidden inside a book Coyote accidentally sold the year before. Without telling her dad the truth, Coyote sets off on another cross-country road trip in their beloved bus, Yager, trying to track down the missing book before it’s too late. Along the way, they reconnect with old friends, meet new people, and confront grief, guilt, healing, and what it really means to let go.
