Product Details

Vaseline glass, also known as uranium glass, is a type of colored glass made by adding uranium oxide to the glass mixture. It is typically a bright, translucent green color and fluoresces a vibrant yellow-green under ultraviolet (UV) light. This glass was popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for tableware, decorative items, and jewelry due to its unique appearance and the novelty of its radioactive properties (which are very low and considered safe). Fenton Art Glass Company, founded in 1905, was a prominent American glass manufacturer known for its colorful and decorative art glass, including pieces made in Vaseline glass. They produced a wide array of items such as bowls, vases, baskets, and figurines. The "Sea Foam" color is one of their distinctive green hues, often associated with their mid-century production, which aligns with the potential Art Deco or mid-century modern styling seen in the bowl's design.
