This 1970/80’s beautiful vintage miniature 3.5” studio art pottery vase was made by renowned North Carolina master potter and folk art historian Rodney Leftwich. This early piece features a classic Southern globular body with a flared, out-turned collar.It is dressed in a smooth, satin sky-blue glaze that subtly breaks to show the clay body's natural texture around the rim. This form and color directly honor the historic Pisgah Forest and early Carolina art pottery traditions that Leftwich dedicated his life to preserving. The vase is in excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Features a lovely, raw glazed interior neck typical of hand-thrown Southern studio ware. (Please see photos of the base for the artist's incised signature/marking).
