amazing specimen of blue forest petrified wood. the blue forest in southern Wyoming is 50 million years old. it spans about 250 square miles underground. we dig these pieces at about 6 feet down. the wood is surrounded by blue botroydial chalcedony, quartz and calcite. this piece is a branch section about 2 inches tall, 6 inches diameter.
