1772–1972 Burning of the Gaspee Part of the American Bicentennial Series Description: Vintage Haviland Limoges France commemorative collector plate featuring the Burning of the Gaspee, an important pre-Revolutionary event often considered a precursor to the Boston Tea Party. The colorful central scene depicts colonists attacking and burning the British customs schooner Gaspee in Rhode Island waters. Framed by a patriotic star border and dated 1772–1972. Measures approximately 9.75 inches in diameter. Condition: Good vintage condition. Light age-related wear, residue from an old label on the reverse, and minor discoloration around the foot rim. Front display side presents very well.
