A wonderful piece of literary history — this is Volume VII of the 1904 Funk & Wagnalls Commemorative (Cameo) Edition of The Works of Edgar Allan Poe, a ten-volume set introduced by American poet Edwin Markham. This volume contains Tales — Fantasy and Extravaganza, including classics such as The Masque of the Red Death, Hop-Frog, The Domain of Arnheim, King Pest, and more. Features the original dark navy blue cloth cover with gold gilt lettering and a stamped facsimile of Poe's signature on the front, plus a beautiful frontispiece etching titled Silence by Méaulle. Pages are clean with expected aging. Both inner hinges are split — please see photos. Measures approximately 4" wide x 6" tall. A wonderful display piece or addition to a Poe collection.
