Waterbug began in 1975 as a way for Mike Whitaker (founder of Operation Bass/Red Man Tournament Trail/FLW/MLF) to offset his tournament fishing expenses. It soon grew into a respected bait company as anglers discovered the effectiveness of his spinnerbait designs.
Waterbug is being relaunched using premium components and modern manufacturing, carrying forward Whitaker’s original design and the legacy behind it.
