Stunning and unique victorian 9k gold mourning brooch. Brown braided hair with a beveled glass top mounted on a beautiful white chalcedony stone with an etched 9k gold frame. At some point in this brooches life, there was a repair made on the frame(part of the frame that does not have a etched design). I did bring this brooch to a trusted local jeweler to have the gold purity verified in a xrf machine. Jeweler advised he could make out a 9k mark, but i was unable to see it. There does appear to be a file mark on the back. Brooch measures 2.5" x 2". Other than the repair, the brooch is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks.
