A scarce Takaan papier-mâché hen mold, listing is for the smaller one on top measuring approximately 8” x 6”, with exceptional carving and wonderful evidence of its original use. One of the most fascinating features is the series of deep grooves and release cuts along the top ridge and lower edges of the mold. These working cuts were part of the production process, helping craftsmen separate and remove the finished papier-mâché form from the mold. They offer a tangible glimpse into the way these pieces were actually used.
