Product Details

Bohemian porcelain from the Victoria Porcelain Factory, Carlsbad (Karlovy Vary), located in what was then Austria‑Hungary and later Czechoslovakia. • The blurred backstamp reading “Victoria Carlsbad” with a crown or star emblem was used by the Victoria Porcelain Factory, founded in 1891 by Schmidt & Co. in Carlsbad. • The mark style dates to circa 1891 – 1918, before the factory became part of Porzellanfabrik Victoria AG and later merged into Bohemia Ceramics. • After 1918, marks often added “Austria” or “Czechoslovakia,” so the absence of a country name places yours firmly in the pre‑WWI period. The irregular scalloped shape and flowing cobalt blue floral design with gold accents are characteristic of Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) porcelain from the 1890s – 1910s. Early Victoria Carlsbad pieces like this are sought after for their craftsmanship and distinctive shapes. The combination of flow blue + gold + scalloped form makes it especially appealing to collectors of Central European Art
