This handsome 1904 three-volume grouping from The Cameo Edition of The Works of Edgar Allan Poe showcases some of Poe’s most imaginative and atmospheric writing in an early 20th-century decorative library binding. Volume III, Tales—Marvelous Adventure, collects Poe’s strange voyages, impossible discoveries, and tales of suspense and imagination. Volume VI, Tales—Horror and Death, contains many of the dark, psychological works that made Poe famous, exploring fear, obsession, mystery, and mortality. Volume VII, Tales—Fantasy and Extravaganza, highlights Poe’s more unusual and inventive side with stories blending satire, fantasy, wit, and the uncanny. Bound in red half leather over with gilt spine lettering, these volumes make an impressive display set while also representing the range of Poe’s literary legacy—from gothic horror to speculative fiction and adventure.
