This is a vintage Mid-Century Modern (MCM) silver-plated and amethyst geode bird sculpture, created by the Brazilian artist Gerson. Crafted in Brazil by Gerson (often marked "Gerson" or "Gerson BA-P.90" on the tail or bottom see picture 4). The head, neck, and base are made of silver-plated metal (which develops a dark, moody patina over time if left unpolished), while the body is composed of a raw, natural cluster of deep purple amethyst crystal. These brutalist-meets-glam animal figurines were primarily produced between the 1960s and 1970s. Item is vintage and preloved please view all pictures or ask to see live for question.
