Rare unsigned Selro figural brooch featuring a cheerful Laughing Buddha (Hotei) carved from glossy black resin with hand-painted gold accents and red lips. The dimensional Buddha is set within an ornate gold-tone bamboo-inspired frame resembling a decorative easel or screen. A wonderful example of Selro’s highly collectible Asian motif jewelry from the late 1950s to early 1960s. The original paint details remain remarkably vibrant, and the brooch is in excellent vintage condition with a secure rollover safety clasp. An exceptional addition to any Selro, Selini, figural, or mid-century costume jewelry collection.
