​Up for auction is a museum-quality piece of Canadian history: a 1910s Waterman’s Ideal No. 52 fountain pen. This is a rare, high-end variant featuring SOLID 14k GOLD hardware, not standard gold-filled! ​The Details: ​Solid 14k Gold Trim: Both the clip and wide barrel band are stamped "14-KT." The band features a beautiful "M.B.C." Edwardian monogram. ​Canadian Heritage: The 14k Gold Ideal nib features the classic heart breather hole and is stamped "CANADA," perfectly matching the crisp 1909 patent barrel imprint. ​Chased Hard Rubber: The original black rubber has beautifully oxidized to an olive-brown patina. ​Model 52: Clearly stamped on the flat barrel end. ​Condition Notes: Sold UNRESTORED. Excellent antique aesthetic shape. The internal rattle is just the original petrified ink sac (completely normal for a 100-year-old pen). It will need a new sac installed by a restorer for daily writing. ​A serious collector's dream!
