Before he was a beloved folk artist with work in museums across America — Don Nedobeck was a jazz musician on the road. In 1968, a gig fell through in Palm Beach. He had a wife, three kids, and a handful of Masonite boards. He painted. Walked into a gallery. Sold everything. By 1976 — the year this pendant was made — Nedobeck was winning awards at the country’s most prestigious art festivals, illustrating children’s books, and creating a small, rare run of pewter objects that collectors today describe as hard to find.
