Susie (1881–1933) and John (1879–1959) raised 14 children while building what began as Pleasant Valley Packing Company. Their work eventually grew into Clemens Market and later became the birthplace of the modern Hatfield Packing Company. This cookbook preserves Pennsylvania Dutch traditions and includes some of Susie's own recipes along with contributions from her descendants.
