Product Details

54x72 This vintage American tied quilt features the classic Dresden Plate pattern, likely dating from the 1930s to 1950s. The quilt top is constructed from six blocks on a white cotton ground, each containing a hand-pieced Dresden Plate motif made of various colorful scrap cotton fabric wedges. These prints include florals, stripes, ginghams, and polka dots. The blocks are divided by a grid of light purple cotton sashing. Two purple cross-shaped appliqués are positioned at the central horizontal intersections of the sashing. The piece is constructed as a tied comfort, with the top, batting, and white cotton backing layers secured by a series of yellow yarn ties arranged in a grid across the surface The textile shows overall surface wrinkling and signs of use consistent with age. The fabric appears generally sound with no major tears or losses observed.
