'Occupied Japan' refers to the period from 1947 to 1949 when "occupied Japan" was a mandatory marking administered by General Douglas MacArthur when occupied by Allied Forces, primarily the United States, following World War II. Toby jugs, also known as character jugs, are ceramic pitchers or mugs shaped like a person, often a historical or fictional character, with a handle and a spout. There is some paint wear but other than that, no other issues. I had two, but of course one got damaged when something got thrown on it by the cashier where I bought it. I guess, turned around no one would see that damage. Debating about selling the 2nd one, maybe during a chip show.
