Hi, I’m Jamey, also known as JMEFLY — The X Wing Guy. The name “Jamey Fly” was given to me by a close friend who has since passed on. I played in two different bands, both with the word Fly in the name, and the nickname stuck. When video games only allowed three characters for high score initials, I used J.M.E. — and that combination eventually evolved into JMEFLY. My journey into vintage Star Wars restorations started for one simple reason: I kept buying ships that were in terrible condition, and sellers were passing off reproduction parts as original by calling their listings “complete.” I wasn’t willing to accept that — not for myself, and definitely not for other collectors. So, I started restoring them. Cleaning them. Learning every detail of the original 1977–1985 Kenner line. Studying what was real, what was repro, what was replaced, and what was missing. What began as frustration turned into a mission: Preserve the original Kenner galaxy and protect collectors from being misled. Today, I’m not a reseller — I’m a specialist.
