An exceptionally atmospheric late Victorian gentleman’s grooming or shaving case featuring an embossed hunting scene across the lid with horseman, hounds, and woodland detailing. Constructed in black lacquered papier-mâché or japanned board with beautifully aged patina throughout. The interior retains its original golden satin lining along with its primitive shaving brush and black handled shaving mug. The underside still bears its original floral patterned paper backing, further supporting age and authenticity.
