This dime is a 1947, supposidly 90% Ag composition, but it may be nickel The weight is suppose to be 2.4/2.6 grams but it weighs nearly double at 4.87 This coins has been struck on a foreign Planchet, such as a nickel Planchet possibly. A nickel Planchet would be 75% Nickel & 25% Copper “A coin that has been stamped with a design intended for a differently sized coin. The resulting errors are prized by collectors, though they are usually caught during the manufacturing process and destroyed.”~ Looks like this one made it out Mistruck coins go for a ton of money Dime struck on a nickel or a foreign Planchet, I would love someone else’s expertise Becuase this is the only type of error coin I currently own You will get the exact coin pictured.
