Substantial vintage Art Nouveau-style bookends featuring deeply molded acanthus leaves and curling floral forms. Finished in a rich aged mahogany-brown with warm highlights, these heavy bookends have the appearance of hand-carved wood, though they are likely crafted from a dense composition material. Their flowing organic lines and old-world character make them perfect for a dark academia library, English cottage, or traditional study. These date between1920s 1940s. They have that wonderful "grandfather's library" feeling that is very appealing right now. They have old felt bottoms. Some rubbing on edges, but no chips or damage on the fronts - only slight rubbing wear. The backs have minor chipping but these aren't visible when they're displayed. 7.25" T x 5" W x 3.5" D Beautifully displayed with antique books, leather bindings, and brass accents.
