Product Details

Ancient style terracotta tile framed with a hanger. 8 1/4”x 4 1/2” 1970’s This ceramic tile art draws inspiration from ancient Greek motifs, particularly the depictions of chariots and horses found in classical art and mythology. Such imagery often symbolized power, victory, and divine processions in ancient Greek culture. The use of terracotta and stylized figures is reminiscent of ancient pottery and frescoes, reinterpreted for a modern decorative context. This particular piece is attributed to Angelos Tsakirakis, a Greek artist known for his work in ceramics and decorative arts, often incorporating traditional Greek themes. Created in the mid-20th century, these tiles were popular as decorative wall hangings, blending historical aesthetics with contemporary craftsmanship.
