Incredible find: tin of over 80 excellent condition vintage skeins of Danish flower thread. If you’re not familiar, flower thread is a beautiful type of embroidery floss that is matte with vibrant and natural Scandinavian style colors. Also known as Dansk Blomstergarm, it is a super soft, 100% unmercerized cotton thread originally created in 1930 for the Danish Handcraft Guild. It is single ply (one thread) - and equals about 2-3 threads of DMC floss. It also includes an old typed index of substitute colors in DMC. This is a special collection for any serious embroidery / needlework / textile artist, and a great find for anyone looking to complete a project using this type of thread, as it is hard to find. Note: some of the skeins are undone / slightly tangled. Otherwise they are in mint condition, no musty or old smell to them.
