1960’s Vintage pair of Salt & Pepper Shakers depicting a 49er Gold Miner named Sour Dough Jake. These are in Pristine Condition, designed by KELVIN in the 1960's. They are marked ©KELVIN and carry the KELVIN embossed label. The Shakers have great three dimensional realism and detail including the 49ers tools of the trade, a pick and a shovel and a small pile of gold nuggets at Jakes feet. The original(?) purchaser has marked 1968 on the bottom of one of the shakers dating it to that decade or earlier. Shakers of the same detail include, Sad Sack, Lil Iodine & Sharkey, Little Abner and others, all popular cartoon characters from the late 1940's and 50's. Very few of these shakers remain today.
