Pictured is a vintage 800 silver lipstick case with attached mirror and blue cabochon accent. The case features elaborate hand-etched scrollwork and floral decoration on both sides with a blue cabochon finial used to open the compartment. The interior mirror remains intact, which is uncommon for many surviving examples of this type. Measurements: 2 1/8" x 5/8" Weight: 32 grams The case opens by sliding down the upper section, revealing the lipstick compartment and hinged mirror. The piece is marked 800 silver. XRF testing produced results of approximately 80.7% silver with copper alloy content consistent with 800 silver. The silver mark is partially worn but the metal composition confirms the silver content. Condition is very good vintage condition. The mirror is intact with no significant cracking or deterioration.
