This watch runs but definitely will need a service as I can only rotate the crown a few times before it feels wound tight. Original WWII-era Waltham Type A-11 military wristwatch issued to the U.S. Army Air Forces. Features the classic black military dial with luminous Arabic numerals, center seconds hand, and stainless steel case. The caseback is marked “U.S. Army” and references the Type A-11 military specification. The watch retains its vintage military appearance with age-related patina to the dial, hands, and case consistent with wartime service and age. The A-11 is considered one of the most iconic military watches of World War II and was produced by Waltham, Elgin, and Bulova for Allied aviation personnel. Known as the watch that “won the war,” the A-11 was used extensively by navigators and pilots throughout the conflict.
