This is the kind of piece that makes you stop and wonder about the hands that made it — and the hands that wore it before you. This massive, nearly three-dimensional hollow medallion is constructed of two matching repousse sterling silver discs, each hand-worked with deeply dimensional swirling scrollwork on both front and back. A mixed metal rope wraps the equator where the two halves meet, and a fluted melon bale connects it to a 26" sterling twisted rope link chain with 5.3mm links. At 2⅝" across and nearly 3¼" tall with the bale, this pendant commands attention. It is hollow, globe-like, and substantial in the hand. Unmarked, but acid tested — sterling confirmed on both medallion discs and chain. Mixed metal components on bale and connector rings. 110.7 grams total weight. Slides over the head easily — no clasp.
