An original color-illustrated leaf from the 1901 limited Japan-paper edition of William Walton’s Paris Known and Unknown, from copy No. 188 of only 500 produced. Captioned “Design for a Programme” and illustrated by celebrated French artist Maurice Boutet de Monvel, the whimsical Art Nouveau composition depicts blue-winged fairies pursuing a costumed sorcerer beneath the title Le Dernier Sorcier. An attractive Golden Age illustration presented in a black-and-gold frame with pink matting, ready for display. Condition as shown.
