Pictured is an original hand-drawn literary illustration depicting Charles Dickens (1812–1870). The artwork is executed in pencil on frosted glass and mounted as a glass slide measuring approximately 4" x 3 1/4". The slide contains biographical scenes and handwritten notes relating to Dickens' life and literary career, including references to his novels, public readings, Queen Victoria, and his 1867 visit to America.
