VINTAGE 40s Ol' Sleepy Eye 2 qt stoneware pitcher The original Ol’ Sleepy Eye pitchers were produced between 1906 & 1937 by Western Stoneware (Weir Pottery) of Monmouth, Illinois. The design is Sioux Chief Sleepy Eye with a teepee village. They were a promotional premium for the Sleepy Eye Milling Company of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. They came in multiple sizes. This is considered the 2 qt size. They were extremely popular so reproductions were being made almost as soon as production stopped. Originals are identified by a 2 part mold with applied handle.
