Although manufactured for human use, the Exogen LIPUS system has been recommended by veterinarians for the treatment of horses and small companion animals. In horses, it is used for the treatment of bucked shins, hind end proximal suspensories, and slow-healing fractures of the sesamoid and other bones. Small animal veterinarians also use them for the treatment of fractures in dogs.
