Product Details
An original 1980s vintage Corona Beach Club Baja hoodie (commonly known as a "drug rug") These woven pullovers were produced in Mexico as affordable souvenir beachwear and promotional brewery merchandise. 1980s (Early Era): Tags from this era are typically small, simple white paper-like ribbons or stiff nylon loops. They often feature basic blue or black text reading "Made in Mexico" alongside simple sizing (S, M, L, XL) and minimal fabric breakdowns (e.g., "100% Acrylic" or "Cotton/Acrylic Blend"). True Vintage (80s–90s): Authentic older "drug rugs" have a coarser, rougher texture. They heavily utilized unrefined recycled cotton strands mixed with raw acrylic, which often leaves visible, random flecks of colored thread throughout the beige woven background. Vintage Screen Printing: Older prints used thick plastisol inks that sit heavily on top of the coarse fabric. Over time, these develop a distinct, fine cracking pattern across the logo.
