A stunning woodblock print, Utagawa Hiroshige, Japan. "Ikegami no bansho" or the Evening Bell at Ikegami. From the series Eight Views in the Environs of Edo (Edo kinko hakkei no uchi). The print depicts a view of the Cheoizan Honmonji temple in the village of Ikegami in Senzoku, south of Endo. This may be a vintage reprint, possibly from the 1930's rather than the19th Century. The print has deep shades of blue in a bright gold frame. The white in the print is bright. There is contrasting red and brown. There is a penned notation on the back of the frame and a white label (pictured). The frame has a blemish or light scrape on the lower right corner, upper right corner and upper left corner.
