MIB 4c. Sb 1153 Near EF. Flat strike, Graffiti, Clipped. Constantine IV ruled at a pivotal moment for Byzantium, repelling the first Arab siege of Constantinople (674–678) using Greek fire. His solidus depicts him flanked by his brothers Heraclius and Tiberius, whom he later had mutilated to prevent dynastic rivalry, consolidating sole rule and preserving the empire's core territories.
