Bored of the Rings is a satirical parody of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, written by Douglas C. Kenney and Henry N. Beard of The Harvard Lampoon and published in 1969. It follows the misadventures of the hobbit-like hero Frito Bugger and his companions as they journey to destroy the "Great Ring," featuring silly names, pop culture references from the 1960s, and a comedic take on the epic fantasy quest.
