Product Details

A charming and nostalgic vintage chalkware teddy bear coin bank, the kind of piece that was won at county fairs and carnivals across America in the 1940s and 1950s. Hand-painted in warm orange and yellow tones with bright orange accent details on the ears, nose, paws, and feet. Features original glass googly eyes that give this little bear loads of personality. Coin slot in the top of the head. Two-piece chalkware construction joined at the neck with original fabric trim hiding the seam — a classic construction method for carnival chalkware of this era. Displays beautifully and is a favorite with carnival memorabilia collectors, folk art enthusiasts, and teddy bear collectors alike. Condition: Pre-owned vintage. Paint wear and age patina consistent with era. Both googly eyes intact and present. Some deterioration to neck fabric trim consistent with age. No chips or cracks noted — please see all photos carefully. Material: Chalkware (plaster of Paris) Size: Approximately 6.5 inches tall.
