A beautiful and well-made vintage hand-tooled leather trinket or keepsake box in a rich dark teal/green and red color combination. The domed oval lid features an intricate stamped floral and scrollwork pattern with a small red leather tab handle, all edged in red whipstitched leather that continues around the base of the box as well. The sides of the base are decorated with matching stamped vine and floral scroll designs. The two-piece construction fits together snugly. Interior is hollow for storing jewelry, keepsakes, or small items. Retains its original Shirokiya sticker on the bottom — Shirokiya was the beloved Japanese department store at Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, operating from 1959 through 2020 and well known for quality imported gift merchandise.
