Grave Digger is the flagship monster truck of the Monster Jam series, instantly recognizable by its black-and-green ghost flame paint scheme, red headlights, and skull motif. Created in 1982 by Dennis Anderson, the truck has grown into an entire racing fleet renowned for its daring "bad to the bone" driving style. Origins and Lore The legend of Grave Digger began when its creator, Dennis Anderson, a former farmhand and mud-bogger, built a Frankenstein-esque truck out of a scrounged 1951 Chevrolet Panel Wagon and junk parts. The truck got its famous name when Anderson trash-talked competing drivers, stating, "I'll take this old junk and dig you a grave with it". Over the years, the menacing aesthetic evolved into the iconic green-flamed chassis with a giant skull and tombstones that fans know today.
