This is a book entitled Anne of Geierstein (or Maiden of the Mist) [New Century Library, The Works of Sir Walter Scott, Volume XXIII] by Sir Walter Scott. This book was found in a collection of books from the late 19th century and early 20th century but no publication date is present in the book itself. The book measures approximately 6.25" x 4.25". It is hard bound (the boards are covered in a material that is leather or leather-like, but I cannot tell). Needs to be repaired as the front cover has come apart from the main text. The leather-like covering has detached from the front board . The spine has chipping at the top and bottom. The covers have some wear, some chipping, and some flaking. The pages have browning. Some pages near the front have light staining near the top. The gilt on the top edge has faded so it is only slightly visible. The ribbon bookmark is still present, but I have not tested to see if it is still attached. See...
