Product Details

This volume from the Surratt Library contains two of Charles Dickens’ most intriguing later works. No Thoroughfare, co-written with Wilkie Collins, combines mystery, mistaken identity, and suspense as a young man searches for the truth about his origins. The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Dickens’ final and unfinished novel, centers on the disappearance of Edwin Drood and remains one of the great unsolved mysteries in literary history. Published by Peter Fenelon Collier & Son in 1900, this handsome volume includes a full-page frontispiece and sixteen illustrations. Adding to its character is an early owner’s inscription dated May 14, 1902, offering a direct connection to the book’s first years of life. A desirable Dickens volume with both collectible appeal and literary significance.
