Product Details

Early 20th Century Chinese Export Sterling Silver brooch featuring a richly colored lapis lazuli cabochon set within an ornate hand-worked floral and foliate frame. Marked CHG, STERLING, and a Chinese character silver mark, this piece was produced for the Western export market and reflects the detailed craftsmanship associated with Chinese Export Silver jewelry of the early 1900s. The CHG maker’s mark has been associated by some collectors with the Shanghai silversmith Hung Chong, though that attribution remains unconfirmed. The brooch retains its original hinge assembly and pin stem; the safety catch appears to be an old replacement, likely added later in the piece’s life to provide a more secure closure. A beautiful and increasingly collectible example of Chinese Export Silver, showcasing deep cobalt-blue lapis and exceptional hand-fabricated detail throughout. Wonderful condition. No call outs.

About the Seller
Hi! I'm Dawn from NJ. I sell Midcentury Vintage Jewelry with occasional Victorian, Deco and other themed drops. I love finding Fleamarkets and Estate Sales deals and passing them on to YOU !! Maybe because my grandparents founded LISA JEWELRY COMPANY in 1962 right here in NJ and I have been around beautiful costume jewelry my whole life. I wish back then I had had the appreciation and saved it all, but I did not. Oh yeah, did I mention I'm in rock band with the same name? LOL. Only the good stuff here, I promise! SMOKE FREE HOME.
