Product Details

Up for grabs is a stunning, authentic late 19th-century Victorian cabinet card portrait. The photo features three women in matching, highly detailed dark Victorian dresses with corseted bodices, pleated skirts, and draped plaid sashes. They are captured in a classic staged studio setting, complete with an ornate painted backdrop, column details, and a velvet upholstered parlor chair. The bottom text is beautifully lithographed with "New York Gallery, 411 N. Sixth St." representing the historic studio of photographer Charles A. Saylor located in Reading, Pennsylvania. The reverse side features a beautifully ornate printed backmark graphic typical of the studio's peak era. Perfect piece of ephemera for antique photo collectors, dark academia decor, or genealogy enthusiasts! Great antique condition. Bold sepia tones with rich contrast. Minor edge/corner wear and light aging consistent with a 130+ year old photo. Please check the photos carefully to judge condition for yourself. Eph280
