Antique English Aesthetic Movement brown transferware plate - an Anglo-Japanese spray of prunus blossom with a vase on a stand and bamboo accents, set inside a richly patterned geometric-and-floral border with a gilt rim. SPECS: approx 9 in diameter. HISTORY: English transfer-printed earthenware in the Aesthetic (Anglo-Japanese) taste; from a Blair & Co set (Beaconsfield Pottery, Longton, Staffordshire), circa 1880-1910 - the plate itself is unmarked, but its companion serving pieces carry the Blair & Co backstamp. Gentle age crazing adds character CONDITION: pre-owned, very good display condition; light gilt wear and any rim flakes noted on inspection.
