Product Details

We bring you here, a rare Victorian footed spooner that would be seen on any formal dining room sideboard in the late 1800's to early 1900's. This beautiful and fragile piece of antique glass with a slight pink cast to it is amazing to eye under light. (The pink hue is extremely light in good light and very pretty.) Decorated with grasshoppers on the sides they seem to be at rest as if in a garden somewhere. No cracks, but the item seems to have taken a Knick to one of the side mounted "hoppers" as about 30% or so at the rear has been chipped away somehow in use possibly? We are not selling this as to be interpreted as completely immaculate in every way. It was used for spoons for a short time by its internal base look but there is almost zero wear internally. The piece is listed as "damaged" but still resonates Victorian beauty! Such a lovely and exquisite piece could be re-purposed as a stem vase or a great addition to any unusual 1800s Victorian collection of glassware. GRASSHOPPER! Riverside Glass pattern from 1883. (*Our example is of the 1800s series.)-- Without engraving. It is 5 1/8" tall & has the "Hoppers" or Grasshopper on 3 sides and is missing part of the tail on a single Grasshopper by being chipped off. *It is somewhere up to 133 years old, so considerations are given. The price is reflective.
